: : I went through the Dink Smallwood game and I beat Seth. The game is now over. So I downloaded The Quest For Dorinthia. I want more Dink games. I went to play and I don't have any of my magic or anything from the Dink game. I thought that would all carry over. There are the monsters right in the beginning of the game and they kill me right away. Did I install wrong or am I not supposed to have anything? The King gave me a bunch of stuff at the end of the game, is that all waste?
: Well, it's not the Never Ending Story... ;) The D-mods are NO sequels to the original, they're seperate games.
: A D-mod is an add-on to the original Dink: a Dink-modification. So, with every D-mod you download you, yes, start from scratch... depending on what the author of the D-mod decided to give to Dink for starters: that could be only a fist and no magic, or a sword and some magic or whatever... but mostly it's just the fist. So what the king gave you in the original is indeed a waste :( how sad! ;)
: So nothing wrong with the D-mod you downloaded, nor did your download go wrong nor did you install not correctly.
: You just have to start afresh! :)
