SOP Silver Key Not Working?

Since I beat the game too early, I have gone back to a saved game and wondered around to play more of it. SOP is a great DMOD! I get into the dreaded swamp-thing area where everyone who goes searching for treasure dies. I save the guy with 2 arms in the N.E. corner. He gives me the Silver Key for my troubles (and cheats me on some gold ;) ). Then, I go straight south to that fence where Queen Audra says you must have the Silver Key to pass. However, it won't recognize that I do possess the key and let me thru. What's up with that? Many thanx for the help!

uhmm, yeah, that's a bug i guess... heeheh, sorry!

but, i don't know how it could be a bug actually, there's no other event/quest that could mess up the story of the silver key? hmmm, do you have another savegame neat that point if yes you could try again it did never happen to me. OR, you could edit the bunch and delete the fence. Your choice. BTW Thanks for the compliment man! :)

Yeah, I had another one saved near there and tried running it. I ran into the same problem. I got the key and then the fence would not let me pass.

I encountered a similar problem. I recieved the royal pass, then I saved the girl's friend (in the pyramid) and when I went to the guard, he wouldn't let me in. That's why I say we should use an actual item for every item instead of just putting it in story or whatever.

Yes but that's because 2 different story's were mixed up, but in this case, there's only 1 story, so i don't know how it's possible...

And eh, john, it doesn't matter if you make actual items or not (it's cooler though) i just didn't used different variables fot different quests (didn't how to do it back then) but now I know :)

Thanx Christiaan. The fence was moved aside with the new map.dat file. :)

Yeah I figured out a way to get past stuff like fences and other things in dmods. It sure makes things easier. All I do is delete or move sprites in sprite mode. I should have just moved the guard, but I didn't think of it until later. Just in case anyone is still having these problems, just move the guy/fence and get on with the game!!
