I am able to kill him but the ending says that there is another ending where I don't die in the end from the explosion. How do I not die from the final explosion?? Can anyone help me?

I only have 8, I have the three unlocking spells, mom's letter, spell to banish evil, hellfire magic scroll, water scroll, and about live/dead water. What am I missing? and where do I get it?
