Quest for the Cheese/Legend of Smallwood problems
After the opening screen at the start of the game, I can't get Dink to move at all.  It's as if he's stuck behind an object (he'll start pushing) in all directions even though nothing is there.  Any ideas as to what is doing this?  I searched through the script files and tried a few things, but none of the changes I made worked.  Any help is much appreciated :)

He's not in any room.  It's the first scene in the game.  He won't move at all.  I can't play it.  Both games are like this.  After I click 'start' on the first page, it loads up the first "action" screen and the character just won't move from the spot; it's as if he's stuck in an invisible box where all sides are blocked.  Thanks for your help, though, it's just stuck :\

This sounds like it could be an extraction problem of some sort (though what kind I am unsure of).  Go into your Dink Smallwood directory (usually c:\program files\dink smallwood\).  Then, go into your Quest for Cheese directory (such as 'cheese' or 'qfc' or something similar).

Within this directory there should be files such as dink.dat, map.dat, hard.dat, and dink.ini.  Then there should be 4 folders called graphics, sound, story, and tiles.

If instead of the above you find another folder, move the contents of that folder into the current... so if the .dat files are located in c:\program files\dink smallwood\cheese\questc\ move them to c:\program files\dink smallwood\cheese\

If the there are a lot more files than the .dat and .ini files in the directory (such as .ff .bmp .c or .d files), make sure you have your unzipping program Use Folder Information or something similar.

If everything still looks okay... I really can't think of any reason why it doesn't work.

I figured out what it was.  When I opened the first folder after I unzipped the file, there was a file in there called DMOD.DIZ.  Figuring it belonged in with the others, I just dropped it into the second folder.  It replaced another DMOD.DIZ file that was alread in the second folder, but something was wrong with it.  Then I deleted the first folder and left just the second folder (which contained all of the files I needed).  I downloaded Cheese again and realized my mistake by this time not dropping the other .diz file and replacing the one already contained in the second folder.  Thanks a lot for your help; it was just a dumb mistake on my part *g*.
