LOT Install Problem - Help!
I unzipped LOT into a folder in the Dink Smallwood folder that I named LOT.  When I start LOT, I get the 'Loading...' screen and then it goes black with just a yeallow 'v1.06' at the bottom.  The game never loads.  What's up with that?  I have uninstalled it and re-unzipped it and get the same thing.  I even downloaded the file from a different server thinking maybe I got a bad copy.  Can someone please help me with this?  Thanx!
Re: LOT Install Problem - Help!
Check inside the the new folder you made. Do you see all the normal d-mod files and folders?

GRAPHICS

SOUND

STORY

TILES

HARD.DAT

DINK.DAT

MAP.DAT

DINK.INI

The leading cause of this problem is accidently putting a d-mod in an extra level of folder eg:

C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood\LoT\LoT\

instead of

C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood\LoT\

if you do not see the normal folders, you must cut \LOT\LOT and paste it to \LOT, and overwrite the \LOT directory.

Duh.  Okay, how long have I been playing Dink?  Whew!  Sometimes I wonder about myself.  Thanx for the clue-in!
