It does that sometimes, for reasons unknown to me.  It NEVER crashed for me at all while I was developing it, testing it, etc.  It seems to crash quite frequently for other people though :(

My therory is that it is a memory problem.

how could it be? i have 512MB RAM, and it has crashed for me. i use windows 2000. maybe it is an OS problem? or maybe some scripts are too long? i am playing LOT now, and there it never has crashed. and LOT is much bigger than FIAT.

FIAT does things that no other D-Mod has ever done, and those things seem to cause some problems for some people.  Like if you hit a Earth monster with a Air sword, it hurts it quite a bit.  But if you hit an air monster with the Air sword, it gives it life.  There doesn't seem to be any common thread among people who have it crash on them... some have super fast computers, some have slower computers.

Since many people had crashes while changing weapons/spells, you might try to see if there are some functions in arm() that might cause problem. And because redink1 used a lot of new graphics in FIAT fighting, I wonder if he put all necessary preload_seq() in arm().

If the problem is indeed something to do with the hardware, I suspect that graphics card or graphics memory might be the origin instead. Just a thought.

It has to do with the monster's constantly changing their defense and the script for changing weapons, yeah.  But I can't think of a more simplified manner, and I have no idea why it crashes some computers.

I can think of a much more complex way... and I may end up doing so.

i got all the ultimate weapons (relatively) early in the game. they are more like standard weapons, aren't they? for me the game did not jump back to windows more than 2-3 times. i think you should check something in a screen in the catacombs under the church. one or two screens to the left of the secret entrance to the fire giant my computer crashes each time. it restarts! i hope you will check this.

But no matter what problems I ran into, FIAT was a great DMOD and I had a lot of fun playing it!  Thanx for taking the time to make it, redink1. :O
