Hmmm, so many hits, but no reply.

It's either people agreed your point of view, or they can't come up anything else.

With the constantly running FIAT contest and much-delayed release, FIAT was indeed a popular topic last year. But I thought "hype" means something "bad", something that felt far below the high expection. I think FIAT basically at least stood up to the expection. So I disagreed FIAT is the biggest hype.

I did not see anything in 2001 to be a hype. But if I do need to pick one, I would say it's SOP. SOP is not bad, sorry Christiaan, but I think SOP did not live up to the "hype" the author generated after its release.

There wasn't much hype. And there is no negative connotation in my experience.

I don't think I myself hyped SOP, I think 2 others things did that:

1. The people on the board. SOP was the subject of the week(s), because many people were playing it.

2. The game itself. I kinda went insane making little movies and other files (charachter, history) and even included a training in the game. You would think if you downloaded it, that it the game is something special, but -I have to admit- it wasn't.

(but LOTE will be so you better get ready...:))
