: : : While fighting FIAT my system always freezes. It happens after FIAT has rebuilt itself. Suddenly the picture is frozen and the computer doesnt even recognize the ctrl-alt-del combination or the numlock key. A similar issue was already brought up, but explained with too slow computers and I dont think, that an 1.4GHz Thunderbird with 256M DDR and Radeon7500 is too slow. Unlike the other one I do have an ultimate weapon. Another weird thing is, that once I saw the head change into one of the hands, and once it was totally invulnerable and became invisible sometimes.
: : if your system freezes in f. ex. internet explorer and media player too, you may have a damaged memory or too less or too much cooling tape between the processor and the fan. does the sound freeze too?
: My windows is rock stable, the cpu is cool enough, the system passed 30 minutes of BurnInTest without errors, the harddisk is error free.
: Midi is the only thing, that doesnt freeze while fighting FIAT. Short halts (half a second or so) happen several times before the crash.
I downloaded the new version of Ad-Adware yesterday and run it. It revealed I had 8 spyware .dll's on my computer. I deleated them. Ever since, Fiat don't just crash, it disapears completely from my screen as if I'd closed the game. Until yesterday I never had a problem with Fiat and I have a slow computer (350Megs) compared to what some of you guys have. Redink, do you have spyware attached to Fiat?

No, there is no spyware at all in FIAT. If there was, there would at least have to be an exe file included with it, and there isn't.
It seems that Ad-Aware deleted something it wasn't supposed to. If there is an undo option in Ad-Aware, use it.
Adaware searches spyware by name, crc and perhaps some other criteria. Sometimes files that match one of that criteria are listed. For me it found comet cursor in comet.exe which is a stone aged windows 3.1 asteroid game. But since adaware is completely user-controlled, there is no danger. But I have heard of spy apps, that leave parts of the system messed up, so it doesnt work properly without the spy. But usually this hits the tcpip network protocol.
I think the script somehow triggers the "kill Seth with magic" bug in Dink Smallwood.
There cant be spying parts in FIAT, otherwise my zonealarm would have seen something. Since it was zipped and not install-shielded, it also couldnt change my system in any way.

I know. I just wanted to ruffle redinks feathers somewhat to keep him on his toes (no offence redink). I don't know what the problem is. Sometimes when I play the game just disappears, why I don't know. Sometimes I can play for hours with no trouble. But I do remember this: When I'm in a cave or something and I'm fighting monsters like crazy I get enough points to go to another level, sometimes the game will freeze on me when the dialog box appears asking me to increase whatever while I'm fighting monsters. This has happened several times so now I just make sure Dink is pretty much in the clear when I'm near a level change.

This also happens to me, and I think it is with some trouble in the scripts..
