dmod in progress
i am working on a dmod, i have a 9 min intro, cool title screen effects, and a good base of the dmod completed, but i need to know if people will even like it. what do you guys think about a non-violent dink farming game? if you have ever played harvest moon, i am basing it on that, except it will have less to do with farming and lots more quest. i got tired of working on my other dmod, so i started this. i like the idea of it a lot, but i am finding it very difficult to program. should i continue this project? any suggestions?

Hopefully your still checking your responses to this post because i do like your idea!  I was wondering if it would be possible for you to e-mail me what you have?  I could be a beta-tester of sorts, you said you want to know if people will like it. YES YES YES make the Dmod - remember the one that someone did for school? the one where you have to get so and so to go to work on the farm, and so and so to give the seed all about peaceful resolutions to problems between blacks and whites?  That turned up on somebodies top 10 list.  It was non-violent.  I played it and enjoyed it.  I love to see what you people come up with.  If making this non-violent dmod interests you - do it!!  I would play it :)

You should make the dmod with lot's of character interaction, and a good plot, not "i grow pumpkins to save the world" plot, but something that hit's a little closer to home, you know what I mean?

yes, i know what you mean. the plot is already lame (too late) dink dies and striker (from bftg) does not let him go to hell 69, instead he has to be a pig farmer... but the actual plot, when playing the dmod, will be much better... i plan. also, what if i incorporate violence into this dmod? just not as the primary goal or whatever.

I think you should leave Dink his fist at least. And maybe throw in a sword somewhere. Even if it's totally not the point of the d-mod, (assuming it still happens in the same world) Dink is bound to run across a bonca somewhere sooner or later.



Of course if the whole thing is supposed to dink's own special corner of hell, then maybe it makes sense that he's totally incapable of combat. ;>

My advice is if your going to do something special, go all or nothing!

i dont plan on making a killer epic all time greatest dmod - thats what my other one is for. it will take over the world. this one is just going to be fun, and cool.
