The Dink Sprites...?!
Can anyone help me out here...

I've mastered most of the basics of Dmod editing but this is something I'm really stuck on!  I want to know how I can change Dink's Sprite, what he looks like.  I've looked about at different things and so far I'm more confused than when I started...

Can anyone point me towards some sort of guide or perhaps if they have the time write me a little step by step guide...?!?!

Well, do you want to change Dink for good?  I mean not use the dink sprites ever?  If so, then just replace the lines in DINK.INI which refer to Dink, particularly the walk, idle, and hit, with the info pertaining to your new "Dink".



If you just want to change Dink for a while, like

for example - morph him into a duck so he can go do some cliche task - then you'll want to do what

Seth called in DinkC "replacing graphics on the fly".  This works similarly to the way you change the animations Dink uses when he has various magic/weapons equipped.  You'll have to load them

from DINK.INI and then again in the script thats

running at the time you want dink to morph.

Look at "item-sw1.c" to see how Seth made Dink walk around holding the sword.
