Midi Packs [yes/no poll]
I noticed that 2 midi packs have just been released.  And it got me to thinking... should I go ahead and release my own, totally devistating the others because of its vast size and superior tracks (never before used in any d-mod, BTW)...

So question to you forum guys, should I go ahead and be evil and selfish, releasing my awesome midi pack?  Or should I be slightly less evil, but more selfish and keep it unreleased got?

I have hundreds of them because I downloaded them to help my little brother with a science project.  I put a few in a zip file to see if there was any interest.  Personally, I have no use for them and they are just taking up space on my hard drive.  There doesn't seem to be enough interest in them for me to keep them.  I'll probably zap 'em.  But, sharing is cool, maybe somebody will have a use for yours.

Heh heh, I'll take that as one YES.  They were the only music I could download before I got a better connection.  Although, I do have a few that sound freakin' awesome.  And with the use of SoundFonts, what used to sound like crap can now sound just as good as an MP3 (though not often).

Wow, as good as an MP3? I'd like to hear them, so YES!

MIDI files will only sound as good as the General MIDI sounds on your sound card because MIDI data is just binary code and not actual sounds like a .wav or .aiff.  In other words what one MIDI sounds like on my computer could sound a lot different on yours.  The basic sounds will be the same (i.e. drums will be drums) but the quality will vary from card to card.

I'm interested, I've gotten a few off the net but I need some good tavern sounds.( like baldurs gate)one question though, will Dink read midi and wav? I'm unclear on this.

Yes, but it's best to limit the size of .wav files.  Standard .wav files for CD quality are 44,100hz 16bit stereo 86 kb/sec.  Dink waves are generally 22,050hz 8bit mono or less.
