AGAE - hole?

1) I walked off the edge of the map after warping to the goblin village and giving them water. When I walked off the edge, I saw a vine covered hole with a gold heart, red heart, treasure chest, but I can't seem to find how you are intended to get there - can someone give me a hint?

2) Do you go in a mine, or does the goblin just give it to you? (he gave me some adamant, I've not found a mine yet)

3) Are you *supposed* to kill the people at refuge, or can you leave well enough alone?

4) There are a few islands I can see on the map, but have only found a way to one of them, can you go to them all?

I forgot, but you will definitely find it. It's near the end of the game, before entering the final (or second to the last) dungeon.

He just gave you the adamant. That's it, at least that's what I did.

I don't know any other way. Maybe the author just put it this way that sometimes it's NOT good to interfere how people want to live. You did the same thing to Goblins. They appreciated it. :p

Yes, you can get to both isles

Is this before or after you walk into the fire at the temple of light? I notice you can't go back from this point, so want to be sure I don't miss anything before I go lol :)
