AGAE near end

I've found what I think is the entrance to the boss's dungeon but when I try to cut my way through the vines - *with* the lightning sword, *after* talking to the Teacher - it says "really tough, maybe I should use my good sword". What gives? I doubt there is a better sword in the game. Or should I not have sold my father's old clawsword?

I have not played this one yet but in all the dmods I have played I would be cautious of any weapon to sell. Clawsword sounds good to me?

The light sword isn't the strongest one :)
