Question about the points system in the Dink Network

I have a question about the point's system in the Dink Network. I signed up for an account 2 weeks ago and if you were to look up your profile or other people's profile, how does the point system work and does it mean anything?

Right now its under testing and tweaking (it just started last night, in fact). It doesn't auto-update the point values yet, but will soon. Basically, participators get points. Below is the current list how the point totals were calculated:

Validated Review - 1

D-Mod Demo - 1

D-Mod Unfinished - 1

D-Mod Weird - 2

D-Mod Romp - 2

D-Mod Quest - 4

D-Mod Epic - 6

Dev Source - 2

Dev Tutorial - 2

Dev Utility - 3

Dev File - 2

Misc Add-On - 1

Misc Cheat - 1

Misc Frontend - 1

Misc File - 1

Misc Translation - 1

Originally, points were going to be used to unlock user icons (so at first you could only choose from grass and animals, for example) and with enough points you could choose from more and more icons. I don't know if they will have any use now though, besides showing who is most active.

Can one d-mod only fit in one catagory? Say, if a person made a Dev tutoiral/utility, would they get 5 points, or 3 points

Only one category is allowed. If someone were to make a Dev Tutorial/Utility (how would that work, anyway?) then it would probably be classified under Utility. But it isn't like Points matter at all (yet).

How about Dotm and Doty awards? Do they add points??

Well, AFAIK nobody has any points so I guess it's not used, I think it doesn't mean anything.
