trying to make a dmod...guys wish me luck!
hope what i make...is good ...atleast 25% as good a sfiat...or SOB or POA...if it is...i will consider myself lucky...i have only today decided that i will do it...so it may be a while before it is actually relesed...it is pretty lengthy , the process...so, u people, wish me luck.:0

Nah once you get the hang of it its easy.  When you have technical scripting questions just ask here and you'll get help...if you don't plan on doing too many mad-scripting you can still make a very good dmod.  A lot of it is in the plot and map.  The map design is very key.  And i would like to take this moment to say this about the map of AGAE:



It's very unique, i like the use of size, and the terrain is pretty good.  The trees and stuff can be a bit confusing at times...and something that annoys me, probebly just me...is that you used only that one tile for all the grass.  I hate using the same tile for grass, and i especialy hate that tile, hehe ;)  My dmod used to look like that and it drove me INSANE

The thing that freaked me out and stopped me in my tracks and caused me to never open the editor again was that it saved on exit.  (I forget which program I used, but I think it was a map editor)  It was during a long dmod dry spell, I was going nuts with withdrawal, I was going to make a funny dmod about me wandering thru the great dmods searching for the guy who had locked up all the authors so I could set him free so they could make some more LOL.  Well, so I had wanted to blatantly copy some of the best parts of the dmods to revisit them in honor of the dissappeared author.  Also to understand better how it all works, to see the "guts" of it.  But I was horrified when it wanted to save all the time, because when I opened it up to look I was afraid I'd mess the whole thing up.  :o  If there was an option to exit without saving, I might have continued to tinker with it. :)

Maybe I'll try to do something with that grass... But thanks for looking into my DMOD.

LOL eso....ya know, if you're using the dinkedit it comes with, just alt-f4 to quit without saving....and if you mess up another guys map, just download it again ;)

heh *making note of Alt-f4*  I never thought of that I thought it autosaved ever time you came back to the main screen or something.  And dl again means having to play to the spot I wanted to copy again and again and again wait - not if I only overwrote the things that get changed and saved the saved games somewhere safe. hmm. - just what files *do* change? (that I would need to replace if I messed up)?
