I've got the herb boots, but the wind is still forcing me back. What is happening? It was working fine when i first got the boots, but after i've saved & quit, this problem came up when i reload the game.

And how do i get pass the rocks that's blocking the path to the fiery portal. I manage to go pass before downloading the patch file, but now i couldn't. HELP!!!

Are you wearing the boots when you take that path?

In other words, nake sure that you choose it from your inventory.  You'll find that after you take that path and do some interesting things in that area, you'll be able to access that ring of fire.  The space you were using to access it before for actually not supposed to be there and Redink1 fixxed it in one of his pathces.  Good luck...
