Bryce 4 (which is one up from Bryce 3d) will probably not help you much in creating graphics.  Terrain generation is good (but worthless in a D-Mod unless you're planning on creating static cutscenes).

It does include some rocks/trees you can render, but they're basically the same thing from the original game.

Aside from that, it does include some simplified primitive creation tools (that support negative/positive designations, for some cool effects when grouped), though pretty much any other program should be better.

Also, animation sucks (or maybe I'm just not understanding it).  Sure, it is possible to move objects around in a timeline (as well as the camera), I can't see anything in the animation that could be useful for sprites generated for Dink.

If you want to make some different angles of rocks and trees, it might be worth downloa... err, buying it, but otherwise it probably won't fit your needs.

But there might be some better models to get from around the web, and because Bryce is used primarily for landscapes and such, there are probably a lot of cool models that could be used for objects in the landscape (rocks, trees, grass, maybe even buildings).

Note: this comes from a relatively inexperienced 3d-editor-guy.  I've had experience with a REALLY old DOS based version of 3dsmax (which I made a pretty nifty snowman blowing up movie), 3dsmaxR3 (which continues to confuse, but did manage to create the R2-D2 from Ed the SCV with), Bryce 4 (which I made some graphics for FIAT with), Poser 4 (which rocks for characters, I have to download some more models tho).  Note, Bryce and Poser both have crappy interfaces, and it takes a bit to adjust to them.  I downloaded and opened Blender (SimonK's 3d editor of choice), but I couldn't make anything of it.
Re: bryce 3d
I also tried blender, and while everyone else says it rocks, i think it sucks!! it crashed on my 1.0Gig cpu system, both under linux and windows, the interface sucks. well, cxan anyone plz tell me where to *ahem* get a copy of something good for buildings, and other relatively simeple objects??

i also ned something like poser, for people, but the interface thing sounds nasty...

Poser is actually good, outside the 'odd' interface.  Animation is a breeze.  If you want to make a guy kick, select the kick pose.  Really fun and simple things.  Can change everything about a person... clothes, hats, swords, etc.

If Poser just won't work, the only thing that I know of (which doesn't mean too much) is 3dsmax's Character Studio.  But that doesn't sound too user-friendly at all.

Since Redink1 is a far too nice guy for such ummm... illegal operations :) I can advice you something myself, since I'm not such a nice guy I guess (I hope I'm lying) :P

You might want to try sharing software like Direct Connect or Kazaa. I prefer the first one. Actually, the software itself isn't illegal at all and it's free. You'll probably find everything you desire there.

Well, glad to have been of help :)

Ya I got blender, but I had no clue at all how to use it...i just have my friend make me graphics using formz..

Re: blender
Yep, it takes time to learn, and the interface is different from other 3D prog. But if you persist with the tutorials it is possible to do creatures and people spirtes. And there are a few models around on the web if you don't want to do them from scratch. But if you just want to get some new sprites quickly, use Poser.

Tutorials?
