ALT+M will stop the midi.

I don't know about how you shut it off or patches and things, but I do know that sometimes if you do nothing for awhile, the music stops until you go to the next screen. So maybe if you wait a bit before saying yes you will dance, the music will stop. *fingers crossed* that dance is a pain.
