how do I get off the Island???
I have the key, had the little bug,fence, all that stuff, but I cant figure out how to get to the next island. HELP

Where do you use it, i tried it on the building in the southwest corner, didnt do anything

How odd. After I got my sword, I got the key from the basement of the church. It looked sorta Red Squiggly and I used it on the tower looking building with the yellow brick square, which opened and off I went.

I must be doing something wrong, but I cant get the key to work, I feel dumb, when I go to the door, it says "It is the key to the tower" and that is it.

I know the feeling, I'm stuck in another part, where something is supposed to happen, and isn't, I've no idea why. As to your troubles, all I can think of, is to try this: make sure the key is "equipped" and "use" it on the yellow square (not the door) of the tower building. You can try Talking to the yellow square, and it should say something like "this needs a key" then "use" your key at that same spot. It should work! Good luck.
