: why do you guys put all the download files on 3ddownloads?? they suck! half the time the servers are down. the other half the time the files have been deleted.
: can't we start up an ftp server somewhere?? i can't download any of the file i need, including the runtime files for cedit, the desert tiles, the the dink movie example...the list goes on.. does everyone have this problem??

I have the same problem: sometimes the server's down, other times the file has been deleted. I haven't been able to download anything for at least a few months.

Files deleted? The only one I know of that had that problem was Paul's Hardness Help, and that was my help because I put his name as the URL instead of the normal URL (and that tutorial is actually hosted on the web server and not the file server).
As for why 3ddownloads, its free and it came with the free web server space. Mirrors have been popping up, with a 100 MB mirror hosting quite a few D-Mods (but no development files, alas).
We will have more mirrors soon, and I'll try to put the development files on them.
i havent been able to download ANYTHING from 3ddownloads in months, it is not my connection cause i have cable. 3ddownloads just sucks.
