sprite editing.
can anyone tell me what tools were used to make the original sprites, and where i can get a acopy of them?? (i want to add new sprites, but keep them in the same style as the first ones).

thanks.

p.s.- within a week, our web site will be up, at http://ddmodd.sourceforge.net go have a look. (i'll post here when it's up.)
Re: sprite editing.
You need a paint program to modify existing sprites. Either Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro are good as they let you save the Dink Palette, edit it...etc.

As far as creating new sprites it is best to use a 3D program if you are after the same look and feel of the original graphics. I used Blender, a free 3D program that is very powerful, although it can talk a little time to learn ;-). Get it at http://www.blender.nl . Good luck with your DMOD.
