Damn larva won't show up

I have 250ish in gold am suppose to get the larva but it is not showing up west of the church and I have buttstomped all over the hotel and nothing happens. Can anyone give me any ideas on what to do? I'm stuck.

Larva is a baby pillbug, running(9) around the grass just left of the church. Did you walk around the town before going to church?

Oops...I just figured out what I screwed up, duh. I saw the larva before I knew what it was or what it was for and tried to kill it! I never realized I had picked it up!
