Blistering Pete's treasure

Is it possible to get it? I can see the location, but neither bombs, magic nor weapons affect the skull-'n'-crossbones "X" marking the spot.

I'm greedy, and I want it;)!!! Any hope? No walkthrus or hints mention it one way or the other.

It's not there actually. It's on an island east of Martirdge's place. But to get there you have to explore the coast south of Windemere. There's a place where you can walk into the water. It's marked by two lines of shells and a jumping fish.

Yes, when I crossed the water, the first thing I saw was the sign saying "Blistering Pete wuz here". A few steps away, there is an "X" made of a skull and crossed bones, which would seem to be the spot he buried it. But I can't do anything with that spot, which was my question. Maybe I'm mistaken and I already got it... is that treasure (money and several potions) on the strand of beach that you can see if you go south from Martrigde's house (but not access till you get to Windmere) actually the booty? Maybe I was just confused that it was kinda far from the markers.

That's what I allways assmed was Pete's treaure. If not, then AFAIK, you can't get it.

They was probably supposed to be an item later in the game, I think, (pikaxe) That would dig a hole there, that would lead to a cave that eventualy end up on the island.

Yep, Blizering Pete said "It's right where i buried it. " (or near that), So i quess that Dink should've dig it up OR .. It might be that you need to push a rock away or something.. Wait! I'm not sure was it a chest, but i think that i pushed off a rock in the arrow made of rocks in Windemare (Eh.. Windemere, i somhow always take it as Windemare.) and found a chest, (if i remember right) below it. - But i'm really not sure was it a chest or Pete's treasure anyway.

Yep, Blizering Pete said "It's right where i buried it. " (or near that), So i quess that Dink should've dig it up OR .. It might be that you need to push a rock away or something.. Wait! Wow, is THAT the blizering Pete's treasure? Wow so i have founded it! I thought i haven't found it, but seems i have. :) Yea :) rule :) rule :) Smileys ;) rule! :p
