: How can i make screenshots of Dinkedit and my Dmods?

Excerpt from the Dink C Editor Help File:

"A: When I wanted to put pictures of Dink's Doppelganger on my web site, I tried and tried to make it work but I couldn't. Finally, I found an EASY (and probably the best) way to do it. While playing the game (or while in the map editor) get to the screen you want to capture. Then, simply hit the key on your keyboard. Nothing visible will happen, but the current screen will be copied to your clipboard. Now, go into your graphics program and select to paste the file in as a new image. It will probably look really weird with bright pastel colors (that's how it looked in Paint Shop Pro). Well, load the Dink Pallete, but select "maintain indexes" as the option. VOILA! The picture should appear correctly. Now, save it as a .GIF for your web site or whatever, or shrink it, cut it smaller, or whatever you want to do."

I hope that helps.

Thank you!

but I have plain old MSPAINT, and when i paste the screenshot in a new image, i don't know what to do next! It shows up in weird colours and I don't know how to get the image to normal. MSPAINT has as far as i know no "maintain indexes" option. Please help me!

Re: screenshots...? :S
It si indeed not possible to do it without either a programme like Paint Shop Pro or a programme like I suggested.

But, you can download a free trial version of paint shop pro (I think with no time limit) at download.com or some such site.

Not so; it has a 60-day limit. It says 30 days, but for some reason they give you another month, heh.

An even easier way to do it is by downloading a screen capture utility that can handle games. I use Hypersnap DX and it works just fine.
