Anyone played Starcraft? They're making Starcraft 2 now (Yeah I know, old news )
It seems quite cool, I'm going to try it when Blizzard release it...

I played it years ago and liked it. Don't know why I don't have it now.
I hadn't heard of Starcraft 2 - looks good! I'm surprised they left it so long to make a sequel.

Why oh WHY does EVERY SINGLE FORUM I GO TO have this news about STARCRAFT 2?! Something like this never happened before, yet it does now.

I am an RTS & RPG fan. I have not played Starcraft. But I will be waiting for this one.

Hey, I'm just curious about this.

To be honest, it's because of all the newbies asking stupid questions that are right in front of their noses, or making senseless posts. Sorry 'bout that.

Yeah... it does get a little aggravating, but I try not to jump on anyone until I notice that same person has been doing it repeatedly, even after being corrected. Until then, I'd prefer they be politely informed of their blunder.

Most everybody was a n00b at some point, just some people are that way for much longer than others.

It doesn't really look like they're making any huge improvements in gameplay; Blizzard's just improving the graphics, adding a few more units and structures, and redoing the Battle.net interface.

In my opinion, the game should just be an expansion pack.

Do you know what an expansion pack is?

I think Blizzard dont want to make a completly new game, since the first was such a breakthrough. They just wanted to add some more cool stuffs, fix the graphics and such. Like warcraft 1 and warcraft 2. Pretty much the same game but warcraft 2 is way better.

My thinking is pretty much the same. Starcraft still has an extensive player-base... they obviously did something very right with it the first time. So really, they'd be best off to try to just expand on what was so good about the original.

Besides, after thinking it over, I'm pretty sure that a 4th race will be introduced. There were just too many hints at it in Broodwar. Plus, you'd hope that after all this time, they'd be able to come up with yet another group that played very differently from the others, yet was still balanced.

Maybe not a 4th race, but I'm thinking more along the lines of a 4th side of antagonists.

They might do that, but I really think it is very much within there ability to make at least one more fully-fleshed group. To do anything less seems like such a waste.

They say specifically in their FAQ that the game will feature the original 3 races only.

Personally, I was kind of hoping to see some Xel'Naga...
unless they really are all dead.

I wonder how they are going to develop the story... Brood War didn't really provide a conclusive ending, leaving lots left to be explained.

No, try reading the FAQ again. There is nothing there that specifically denies that there are more than 3 races. All they say is that all three will be back

However, other sources say that there will only be three. If that is the case, they really should reword their FAQ.
