Why are you guys so mean to Kory, calling him names, post stupid things about him etc etc.

I haven`t seen any post where Kory says anything about you guys.

What if you guys was in this position as Kory is in now, Then you wouldn`t lough so much.

But just think of it ok?, but i know that Kory can be a litle Dork sometimes, but not always

He's propably referring to the fact that you're about the same age as Kory, and therefore do not see how he is being an idiot for most of the time. There's no reason to say something bad about you.

I think merlin has a good reason, he says bad things to everyon

I feel kinda bad for Kory too,he's obviously a smart kid,he knows 2 languages,he has computer skills and he's only,what,14 years old.Just because his english doesn't come across perfect is no reason to ridicule him.I think he just tries too hard to be friends with people who really aren't right for him.

It would be better if avery one was nice to him, and of course you should be nice to all at DN.

That's because he's an almighty wizard with a a short temper. But I think that Kory's the only one he's constantly pissed off at.

Kory's problem is that he's a fool who's trying too much. If he was just trying too much or he only was a fool it wouldn't be that bad, but when you combine those two..... it still isn't that bad. But when you add the fact that Kory doesn't learn from his mistakes, (or at least he's learning very slowly) it's a little too much to endure.

I think that Kory has hope, but the time it'll take before he'll be a respected member of the Dink Network is so long that it's too much trouble for us to wait. It'd be best for everyone if he just went away.

Well, of course I don't like it when someone mocks my intelligense, calls me a debil or an automobile, but that's not it. The bad thing that he has done is that most of his posts are rubbish. He doesn't contribute to the community.

Have you actually read that sentence or not? I said "The Dink Network feels like.. blah xyz". That's basically saying something like "This [object] feels like [what it feels like to you]". In other words; I didn't speak in the name of the whole community.

You can't blame Kory. He's never had a very firm grip on reality, let alone English.

Kory is definitely intelligent being multi-lingual and computer literate at only 14! He does come across as a bit annoying, but I think he's just egotistically empowered to do that.

Personally, I dont feel he means badly and since he's willing to put up with the abuse he makes life for everyone more fun here by supplying someone to blame everything on. He will be more mature with time and become respected...yet then wouldnt we miss him for lack of having someone as a necessary evil?

Really now? How old are you? I'm 16, and I definitely was not an idiot when I was 14. Or when I was 12. Or 10. I've never behaved in a similarly stupid way as Kory. Sure as hell my grammar sucked when I joined TDN, I did not know much about stuff or anything, yet still I never was an idiot. (that's not the same as being stupid - at least that's not what I mean)

His behaviour has nothing or very little to do with his age. You don't learn all things, you have them in yourself.

I constantly see you telling others to "shut up" because you disagree with what they have to say, and you think you're so high-and-mighty... what have you accomplished here that grants you such superiority? What marvelous favors have you done for us that support your supposed eliteness?

As for my accomplishments, well, I review, I try to help people and I'm even constantly working on dmods. I'll get something good released one day. AFAIK you haven't done anything more than that either.

That's a whole lotta honesty, Tal... I respect your opinion, but it still strikes me as unusual for a mod to criticize someone so harshly for things that don't disrupt or threaten the forum. It's sort of a responsibility, IMHO, to not hold grudges (at least publically.) 'Tis a power thing:

From you that's a ban threat, from others, a meaningless flame. Perhaps I am completely wrong here, I don't know, but that's how I see it.

Well, that's getting into the debate that we want those more powerfull than us to be our betters, to be more just and more smart, and a whole lot more more's than us peons. But I simply believe that in forcing mod's to be perfect mod's would be just plain silly, or disruptive in other ways. I'm sure redink1 can agree that he being king, brought about a bit of distance between him and the majoirty of us...

It's IMNSHO better when the mod's are people, and can have grudges, and not forget things, as long as people, like you Milo, can argue with the mods, as a person to person, not as a defendant stating a case to a judge. That way is the only way for progress, as rules limit progress. And the only way for people to change, to become better, to *Grow up*, is with progress, and not all progress is nice, nor is it all happy.

In my experience, mods always have some distance from the ordinary people. Maybe that isn't neccesary, but it's what I've seen...

My brother, many years ago, got IP banned from AoKH, back when we were sharing a computer (obviously this ban effected me as well). Basically, he thought that the mods shouldn't have deleted his "hot women" thread (or somesuch), and expressed his opinions over the board. After realizing he'd been banned, he emailed them, and the ban was lifted in a few days, but obviously things were different, and neither of us posted much there again.

Anyhow, the admins at AoKH banned several people, who migrated to SPSW, which allegedly had more personal freedom (it also runs slower than your average gym teacher). Now, a few years later, and behind the backs of many forumers (including my brother and I) the chief admin at SPSW set up a secret board for "select" forumers. That's just catty and low.

Anyhow, the point of this little history lesson is that you really need to be able to trust the people in charge. In either of the above described situations, especially the latter, you would suffer for pissing off the moderators.

Therefore, even implying that you'd like to ban someone for pissing you off seems like an abuse of power. It's like saying "grow up or else". Maybe I just need to know Tal better.

Tal thats not very...nice...however its good to see you make a stand since I know you will be the Mod soon and you need to act like that sometimes.

Scratcher, your posts often do seem very high and mighty. That may not be your intention, but I do sometimes get the feeling that you see yourself as a hardcore old-timer, who has the right to tell people to shut up, even when they aren't spamming.

This may not be the case, and indeed, I doubt it is. But the fact remains that many of your posts come across as being quite superior.

I certainly think there are many more community members who contribute less though.

Ok guys, Everybody chill. We all of us have faults that come thru on the board ocassionally but all of us also have lots of good points, insights, and interesting conversation. Ya'll get a grip here, at some point or other, one of us will be offended by something that was said but really.....How much difference is it going to make in your real life? None, nada, zilch! Ignore it please and get on with making yourself happy. Don't let that remark get to you because there's only one important thing in life.

Who wants to be miserable and angry at someone all the time? What a waste! And I should know! My husband is an alcoholic from a very disfunctional family who started him drinking when he was 9 yrs old. And tho I still love him, I cannot stand the tension and constant unhappiness any longer. I am divorcing after all these years and even tho I cried for weeks (and still do now and again), there is also a certain relief and a definite lifting of my anger and despair. (no comments please). If there is someone you don't particularly like, then just don't ever respond to any of their remarks. This is not real life here on the board. Make yourself happy and let the other guy handle his own mistakes. Be assured that they probably don't like what they've become and are unhappy themselves.
