Very interesting stuff. Section on Dink is pretty good - Refers to the 'passionate community' as Dinkers, notes it's still active, notes Freedink as an option, notes the modules are known as D-Mods, and links to this place.
However, the d-mods mentioned are Mystery Island (which they think was released in 2011 or something), Pilgrim's Quest, Lyna's Story, Dink Goes Boating and Mayhem. I am, obviously, furious about this.

2011??

The book is available for download for free. It was before, the PDF just got taken down while the physical version was being prepared but now it's free to download again.
Mystery Island: An official sequel to Dink Smallwood, made by the original developers 13 years later.
I have a feeling they went on this site and looked at the upload date and went by that rather than actually doing any proper research such as reading the reviews right below it, for example. Two of which mention it being released with Freeware Dink.
The other problem is that they believe Dink was released in 1997 when it came out in 1998

likely what happened. they were either hit with a deadline and had to rush their shit, or they wanted to write a book as fast as possible to cash in. so if they come here for 5 seconds to look at the dates for things, imagine how lazy there were in other places.
hell, wouldn't be surprised if there's piles of plagiarized stuff in there just shamelessly copy-pasted from mainstream sources like no one will notice.

Well, it sounds like the profits were donated to charity, and the writer himself made the book free to download. So if I had to guess I'd say the rushed part is probably right. But the cash in part, not so much.
It was a fan project. A labour of love. And one that is very worthy, given the subject matter.
Dink is a very small fish. It is a shame, given they noted the community, that questions weren't asked about a few things to ensure accuracy.
But... It's still a fab effort. Well done those people.
