It is finally happening.

I'm scared too. Well, not really scared, but concerned. Dare I even mention it? Perhaps the DN is coming to an end? That would be more sad than scary; but still quite something we hope we can avoid.

Maybe it is an anniversary date of the publication of Dink Smallwood or the founding of this website? Yes, maybe something positive.

The dn is actually a programmed computer software that has collected all the info on dinkers and will launch tiny missiles around the globe and turn every member into duck. Redink and Seth then make the game a reality and venture out on a live dink quest. Dink always needs ducks to kill you know.

Just because it will happen on "all fools' day" does NOT mean that April 1 won't be (or won't have been from long ago) some day of significance to Dink and all Dinkdom. So, I still ask others who have been here a long time to speculate. Maybe it really does have something to do with Necromancer, or something else of equal significance to the DN.

Or, I admit, it could just be a countdown to a joke or prank of some kind.

Nasa has discovered a huge meteor traveling towards Earth, that will wipe out our species.

They teamed up with Google, who created a specialized google-bot to search for the most persistent indie game community. Such a community would be most reliable to continue the human race on some distant exoplanet.

TDN has been chosen for the task. When the timer runs out, we will all receive an invitation to attend an astronaut's crash course. The interstellar vehicle is constructed, and for our convenience, the main computer is operated using DinkC. Now we just need to determine where we are going...

April 1st is drawing nearer and no one knows for sure what is gonna happen when the countdown hits zero. Toof has my favorite theories ... either Dink 2 is coming out (!) or the Dink Network community members have been chosen by NASA to continue the human race exoplanet after meteor. You can't disprove it !

Whatever it is, we can assume there was a reason redink1 wanted to be mysterious about it, and (given that it ends up on April 1st) has a bit of whimsy about it.
