I truly hate that my involvement here has been insubstantial and inconsistent for, uh, literally over a decade lol
Though I am somewhat proud of my unwitting evolution into a multifaceted in-joke, even if most spins have been unflattering at best. But in fairness, being associated with porn and destructive apathy is befitting of me.
I was, for entirely too long of a tragic spell, entrusted to maintain some semblance of order as redink1 dedicated his time to maintaining a life outside of the internet. As it so happened, I too found my life quickly carrying me through a much different path. It was fraught with anxiety and turmoil. Nearly every choice was a miscalculation, and virtually every free moment was squandered. I may have had the ability to uplift the scalawags and degenerates I associated with, but I ultimately lacked the will and the strength to do so. At times it seems like every life I've impacted, I've done so with no perceivable benefit.
I have been associated with this place in some form or fashion for almost 20 years. The community has persisted against all odds, and I am constantly amazed by that. Friendly faces have distanced themselves or disappeared entirely, and I regret that I likely contributed heavily to this. Community members I cared about have died while I've drifted in and out. The burden on my soul is insurmountable. This place has influenced me in countless ways, it's given me more than I could ever realize, and I've presented it an oft-mentioned legacy... of comical ineptitude, and perhaps the occasional decent one-liner.

That picture is a proud moment in the Tal family legacy and hangs above the Tal remembrance fireplace where photos of his grandfathers and great grandfathers proudly stand in military jackets as braves soldiers who didn't choose to fight but still stood bravely. That photo sits besides an image of Great Nana Tal from a 1940s newspaper cutout where she stopped a bank robber by stabbing him in the hands with a wooden sewing needle. That image of Tal sits between images of brother and sister Tal who were each awarded with Nobel Peace Prizes on their work with DNA strands and how their discoveries will influence the scientific community for 100s of years to come. After putting up this picture of Tal on that mantle Tal Dad went and removed his own because he felt his own achievement of being the first to discover intelligent life outside of this solar system wasn't good enough to sit up there next to Tal. His own image to forever remind the family that he, and only he, has conquered his schizophrenia.

I don't really know what sort of response you desire from a post like this, you're an odd character to read, but I'll be honest and genuine....
It's pretty easy to fall into the trap of believing that you've not benefited anyone's life that you've impacted, because most people won't tell you if you have, they'll only tell you if you haven't. It's also easy to believe that you've squandered moments or even your entire life, because what does a life that isn't squandered actually look like?
I don't really know where I'm going with this or if I'm even going anywhere worthwhile...but you should know that regardless of how you feel and have felt in the past, that you're worth it and you're a pretty cool guy. You've always had some impeccable wit on here, anyway. I guarantee you that anyone who's spent more than a month or two as part of this forum will have some funny memory of you etched into their brain forever. You're a bit of a legend, mate.
