Lately Ive been playing Goldeneye 007 on N64 emulator on the PC.

Despite it being made in 1997 it's better and immersive then most games nowadays gaming is too mainsteam and there is too much DRM all over the place too much useless DLC and microtransactions.
In contrast to getting getting extra features by playing and beating the game on multiple games and its very rewarding I miss RareWare.

Just look at this video Click here!

Now its too "Mainsteam" with EA being the greedy and selfish monster as it is Blizzard being DRM loving pieces of crap what a disgrace that Blizzard have become Rockstar just relying on shock value and crudeness and not creativity and artistic design although they were never pleasant to begin with but they are given too much credit in which they don't deserve.

I miss the good old developers like RareWare and Westwood.

Too be honest I blame the US and its citzens for its tastless attitude and games.

I agree with the punisher on that point!

Games wan't better back in the day, and they aren't better now. There are good games and bad games. You should support good games and not bad games to make sure the publishers know what we like.

Mainstream gaming was definiatly better back in the day.
However the indie scene is looking fairly decent.

Well, mainstream gaming was definitely different back then.
Developers paid attention to different aspects of the game in order to try to make it fun. Today, games are mostly graphics-centered,and we all know that good graphics are not enough to make a game good (there are exceptions to everything of course).

However the indie scene is looking fairly decent.

Independent developers are trying to create games they would enjoy themselves (i.e, more like the old school games). You could say that the indie games of today are like the mainstream games back in the day.
If you are looking for old-school fun, indie is probably the way to go.

I said accept. It's true that EA is one of the worst companies out there today. They mess up games that their developers have created with releasing them too early, server overload etc. and that really sucks. But remember, without EA there wouldn't have been any Mass Effect or SimCity. You just have to accept it, they got the cash.

You blame the US? We already know that you're a prejudiced fool, thank you.

I'm hoping to make my own video game company and bring back not only traditional RPG gameplay with good graphics, but come up with my own ideas and see if I can influence the way video games are played.

Accept huh? that's why these corrupt dinks do these things because weak willed gamers like you just "accept" it.

Actually, it won't. My current project, (With the working title of Mountain Story,) is about a young farmer named Marco who leaves home to understand why the village elder's daughter, who is much younger than him, can suddenly beat the crap out of him while sparring.
Stuff happens after that.

Another game I'm currently conceptualizing, Starlight Odyssey, is about an immortal man who is taken as prisoner on the battlefield between the Kingdom of Faxah and the Kingdom of Phyrixya, and must save his world from widespread war and destruction, while an ancient evil lurks in the shadows, trying to use him for its own nefarious agenda.

I have also come up with the basic concept for a third-person shooter/ third person hack-and-slash called SYMBiOTE, which will focus on a strange alien virus taking over and mutating human beings. The main characters are Detective Marcus and a man who was overcome by the mutagenic virus, but still retains his humanity.
That game will be played in two modes, Beast Mode and Human Mode, which is hack-and-slash and third-person-shooter with some focus on puzzles (similar to the Silent Hill games, for point of reference).

With all of these, I am working very meticulously to make sure that the storyline is very well thought out, that people can enjoy the game for both story and gameplay, and give the players something memorable. (Note that with SYMBiTOE, that is uncharted territory for me, and designing a game like that, without much knowledge of third-person graphics and not having the proper engine will require that I plan everything out and make the game when I have the proper resources.)

Please make note that that is two RPG games and only one that has any form of violence.

A true gamer will play good games, and ignore bad games. Doesn't matter which company has made them. Every company has made a shootty game at some point. You shouldn't look at the company who made the game. That's like hating on an entire music genre.

Stupidest thing I've seen is that some people actually like a game, but still won't buy it because it's made by a certain company. Ridiculous.

Kris, if you're still into RPGMaker, buy the indie game To The Moon. It's ridiculously good and was made fully in RPGMaker XP. Also, if you're looking to dig a little deeper, there's a game series called The Way made with RPGMaker 2k3 that is really, really good as well and if it were made in this day and age it could probably find a home on Steam as a full product.

I played an RPG Maker game called Devil Theory Alpha (it's a prequel to dream project).

It wasn't professional persay but I thought it was excellent either way (and it's free). I hope he gets to make his dream project someday. Here is a link if you want to download it:

Devil Theory: political and social crises arise from the deliberate actions of evil or misguided leaders rather than as a natural result of conditions

Sounds nice, KrisKnox.

"A true gamer" plays the game first before opinions. Have you ever played a game, Punisher? Before ranting on every game that you think deserve it? Reviews are not enough you know. There are games that suits everyone, GTAV suits some people better than Portal 2 for instance. Maybe because some like puzzles more than sandbox-style shenanigans, they are tough to compare.

And hating on the company is wrong just as Skull cited. <- such a cool word, cited.

Honestly with that games list under your belt it doesn't surprise me you got tired of them. Have you perhaps considered it's not the games themselves, but the genre that you got tired of?

But you still haven't played the recent one? I know that the GTA games are fairly similar, but you never know when you might actually like a game. When I was younger, I got really bored playing older SNES games, this was during my 'I has an xbox' days when it first came out. Then I read in a GameInformer magazine about how Chrono Trigger was one of the greatest games in the world. I got a Snes emulator, and I've been in love with games like that ever since.
