I have decided to make a d-mod about a small village, but to call it a town. A Town Called Daemon, to be precise. I'm thinking it will either be similar to The Basilisk Smile in tone and style or a short, simple romp, as basic as basic can be but with nice mapping and lovely music.

I think it's a good idea to challenge yourself like this to keep yourself interested and motivated in D-Mod creating, and making sure it ain't impossible to still create more.

Go for non combat I'd say, focus on atmosphere and story. It was done really well in Basilisk Smile too, although I think your brother did a lot of that?

You should stop pestering him to get it done then. I don't know anyone who works better when the conditions consist of having a bunch of people constantly poking at him with a stick to finish.

I think you have to make one yourself to realise the total committment you have to give, to get it finished - its a huge amount of work so unless you have a go pred u cant understand what it takes. I suggest you try one yourself before you continually 'hass' others about it.
Predator, I think this will actually increase the possibilities of CC3 being finished faster. If Sabre manages to pull this off, it might show him he is still capable and has the time to create a D-Mod. It might give him a more positive attitude towards finishing CC3, and I'd say positive attitude and determination are the two most important things when creating a D-Mod.
Try to cut him some slack. The guy's created us some of the finest (if not the finest) D-Mod on this site. We should give him some respect and cheer him on instead of complaining.

Ok, I haven't had as much time as I would have liked. The gal and I found and adopted a stray kitten (10-14 days old) so I haven't had as much free time as I would have liked. I've done a small amount of mapping - pics to follow - but little of actual substance.
The main theme of the d-mod is something I'm unsure of still. There are two main ideas I'm mulling over - A strange town or a descent into the bowels of the earth. I think I'll need to try and keep it either a very linear adventure or use a few longevity tricks, a la TBS, to prevent it from being completed in a very short period of time.

Lovely project this is. Many of the good DMODs released in recent years have been in contests... You just shouldn't give Dinkers all the time in the world to finish something.
The only problem being I'm becoming increasingly addicted to Dark Souls and have a 3 week old kitten marauding around the apartment every time I settle down try and do some work!

I still use DinkEdit.
I suspect that most of the keyboard commands came over from DinkEdit into WinDinkEditPlus2. Why not give it a try? It should make many things easier.
And that way maybe we can get to see your next great dmod sometime before the year 2020.
