I need Beta testers (WinDinkEdit)
I seriosuly need some beta testers, right now I send alpha tests to Redink and Simon (wheather they like it or not ) but I'm redoing a big part of the hard tile code so it's a tad bit better (blame redink, he keeps complaining). Well, it should turn out real well and will be done in about a week, if anyone is interested, post here or e-mail me.
I'd love to, but windindedit seems to hate my dmod.. could be a lot of things, my dmod is messed up.. for one thing, it's not a mod, the way it's set up is standalone.. that could be a part of it..
well, send the mod to me so I can fix it. The mod probably is corrupted, I have beliefs the DinkEdit is causing these corruptions.
Hi,
Iam reallyyy eager to help..but i dont really know anything except playing..
But if i am of any help...lemme know PLIZ!!

I cannot be beta tester (I have a few valuable files in this moment), but can I give a suggestion?
Do not use Video RAM if not strictly necessary, and ultra latest DirectX code, the same way.
Now refering me to this problem between Okaly's D-Mod and the crash of WCDinkEdit, it is probably fault of a damaged Bitmap inside of a Fast File. I found this while trying to change gamma correction (You already know).
Maybe "Debug FastFile" is needed.

Wrong, it was the same map corruption issue, for some reason this is growing wild and all the information I have come across on it points back to dinkedit causing it. I need to speak with Seth.
Oh, and about the video and direct x thing. Ok, so I will program it to use system ram, that way it will run tem times slower and make the dink engine look high tech. No. (same with directx 9)

But, why is slower with RAM and not with Video RAM? WinDinkEdit does not need to read..write..read..write..read..write.. from RAM every millisecond, it only need to read or write when the user changes something, and when this happens there are few bytes to write or read. Why Video RAM make so much difference?
Dude, Ivan, learn something about programming then talk. Every mathmatical calculation uses ram to hold the values or certian things (moving the map, calculation the position of sprites based on depth dots, reading the mouse position, which is done even millisecond, and tons more.). As for video ram, video ram is useally 10 time faster than ram. Video Ram is what controls what is displayed on your screen, when the graphcis are called for, the graphics are copied from video ram location, to the primary buffer in the video card. If stored in system ram, the grpahics in the system ram has to be copied from the system ram to the video ram, and the transfered to the primary buffer (the copying part make it 5-10 times slower).
In a nut shell. Everytime you move your mouse, press a key, or when a program calls a command, the program read and writes to memory. Even when you computer is sitting idle, every program is reading a writting to ram. Everytime you do this in WDE, WDE is making calculations, and drawing the screen. But unlike programs like DinkEdit, WDE doesn't do anything is your computer is idle.
So Ivan, not to be rude, but know what you are talking about next time before trying ot strike a arguement.

Mmh. I know what I am talking about. Maybe you need to learn programming first. You are known for the bugs/errors.
I'm ending this right here. If you think you can make it better, feel free to try, untill then shut up. If you do not like WDE don't use it.
Oh, and put a valid e-mail adress in your profile or nasty things may occur. Got it?

Alright WC, is there a trick to getting the warps to work well, or is this glitching for me. Now, I go to the point i want it to warp to, right click and say Set Warp End (like hitting alt-w in DinkEdit) Then i go to the warping sprite, which is already hard and warping and everything. I try picking it up, right clicking and Set Warp Begin, I try not picking it up and Set Warp Begin, neither pastes the info in... I'm confused. I got it to work once last night, so I have no idea.
Ok, so it works backwards, I click Set Warp Begin, then Set Warp End.. is that the only trick?
I guess it's not backwards, makes more sense, but backwards from DinkEdit

WC I Wanna beta test. Pretty please inside a wc.net coffy cup with a poster of nude chicks on top
