Because God has posted but he only wants a specific person to see it.

Amazing, one person here actually understands Star Control references.

Let me heat that up for you...
This "Star Control" is intriging, lets all have a party and invite 'them' over. Too bad I don't have a multidimensional thingy or whatever it is that brings them over. Maybe I should stop now.

Ya, whatever.

Hey Striker, just out of curiosity, did you play SC2 with or without the voice files? It made a difference when I used them.

With the voice acting, though I admit it's... really inconsistent, but, Utwig aside, none of them bothered me enough to turn them off.

I still play Super Melee just to see how good I am. It's fun wasting 7 ships in a row without losing one or taking down Ur-Quan Dreadnaughts on Awesome with a single Zot-Fot-Pik Stinger.

I thought that whoever did the Yehat voice-acting was the best.

I like the super melee, too. Without it I would still be crashing Skiffs into the planet and opponent. I personally prefer the Orz ship for the Dreadnaughts for the ability to turn the cannon backwards and let it chase me while I pepper it. I have to say the the Eluder is one of the more useless ships against most, next to the Pkunk which is only good for the Sa-Matra.

It's a boredom cure.

Yeah, the Yehat were really well done, and they have the best original theme music in the game.

The Eluder useless? No way, the Eluder is awesome. You need to fly it like a Spathi in order to win most fights. Basically, yo just run around like a coward, dodging everything while pelting your enemy with BUTT rockets. Seriously, the Eluder is absolutely one of the best ships against the Ur-Quan and the Kohr-Ah. There are really only a handful of ships that Eluder probably won't win against, especially when you get good enough to use the forward cannon, as well.

The Pkunk is pretty much flown the same way, only more aggressively, and requires even more finesse.

Also, against the AI, very few ships are as versatile as the Thraddash Torch.

Star Control 2 (or The Ur-Quan Masters by it's open-source name) is good enough for me to hunt down SC1 and see if SC3 was even done, and if not I could probably work out a good bit myself as any new graphics wouldn't need too much work and the engine is simple enough to mess around with.

My problem with the Eluder is probably that I'm too impatient. My absolute favorite for combat would be the Precursor flagship with 2 hellbore cannons, 2 tracking systems, and enough power supply (it's hilarious to just one-shot kill the Umgah in story mode, until they did the warp thing and reduced my crew to about 10 people after 30 ships. But Thraddash are the best fodder for that.

I think the funniest part of playing SC2 for the first time was that I literally tried to harvest every planet possible and then I noticed that the Khor-ah sphere kept moving to kill everyone (it was pretty suspicious, but by then I was hardly getting enough resources for fuel, so I found the wiki and started over). Now I realise that the best way was to get the Warp Pod and cash in on the Rainbows.

The Pkunk is something for the expert pilots because it weaponry sucks so bad (short range pea-shooters and manual recharge is not the best on the market) that the reincarnation thing had to be added to balance it for anyone with less skill.

It's still a great game, and I'm actually pleased to know I'm not alone in that corner of the free-stuff-community.
