The Dink Network

Well, after some Beheaded Duck Smiley Shirt tests earlier today (I thought maybe a smiley-erized version of the Beheaded Duck would be cool, but nope), I decided to try to see what would happen if I just re-sized it to the huge size that is required for T-Shirts... and the quality surprised me. I was expecting huge pixels, but it actually blended it all together rather well, considering the extremely small source material.

I know it isn't perfect, and it looks distorted (though one could argue, 'artistic' )... but would anybody care to buy one? If so, I could probably add it for purchasing within a week or so (I need to clear it with Seth).

Maybe it's just me... but I think it'd look kinda cool pixelated. Can you put up another example like that, just to see how it looks?

Oh, and I forgot to mention that all of the images that I posted were generated by Zazzle (not me) so they should be pretty close representations of what the final product should look like.

I never did understand what this craze about the beheaded duck was all about, but I must admit it has something going for it on the tanktop: all nice and sweet pink and then this blood all over it. But I won't buy it anyway...

I'm certainly gonna buy one if it would look better. less pixels, and at least less fuzz. but yeah, beheaded ducks rule

I wouldn't buy one...but maybe that should be the prize for the contest?

I think that shirt would look better without the duck's shadow... I could even buy one, though I don't understand what's so hard in making a good picture of a duck without a head with those superb graphic programs you people have?

i like the shirt how it is, but it should have the little dink icon (d with sword and star) on the sleeve or pocket or something... this shirt kicks ass.

why do you get such small profit from selling shirts and other merchandise? Do you have to pay huge royalties to rtsoft? Or does the internet service for payment through cafepress cost money?

The way CafePress is set up, they have a base price for each item. This base price includes everything CafePress needs... their profit, the cost of the goods, etc. Then I decide how much more I want to charge (usually around $1 to $2).

Zazzle (which we don't use yet) is setup a little differently... they give us 10% of whatever we sell, and they decide the prices completely.
